A new proposed legislation is pushing to allow adults under 21 in bars all over Iowa. State Senator Wally Horn introduced a bipartisan bill that would allow 19 and 20 year olds into bars/restaurants with a liquor license. His reasoning is that traffic in the downtown Iowa City area has decreased since the passing of the 21 ordinance. He also suggests that this will help keep them away from house parties where it is a unsafe environment while downtown has police paroling constantly.
