Officer’s alleged lies may jeopardize DWI cases

A Dallas police sergeant is being accused of perjury over a drunk driving case in 2012. On July 6th, 2012 officer Baker pulled over a civilian after he allegedly ran a red light. After getting pulled over Baker conducted several field sobriety tests and arrested the civilian after several failed tests. The footage from Baker’s dash cam clearly shows the civilian made a turn on a green light and Baker ran a red light to pull them over. In court the video was played over and over for Baker, but he would not recognize the mistake he made. He was asked whether he was color blind because that seemed liked the only viable reasoning for why he would not acknowledge the video evidence. This isn’t the first time Baker has run into trouble on the job, he has multiple occasions on the job that bring questions to his credibility.
